Allot Communications released it’s “MobileTrends Report H1,2011” yesterday showing that mobile data usage grew by 77% for the first half of the year, and that YouTube accounts for 22% of that growth. (You can read the entire report here if you are interested.)

Allot’s report also concluded that mobile video streaming grew 93% for their study period and it’s the largest application taking up 39% of all mobile bandwidth.  Twitter and Facebook mobile use also grew by 297% and 166%, respectively.

So what does this mean for your business?  It means that your customers are on the move and they want access to information on the go.  It also proves to me that the big three, YouTube, Facebook, and Twitter are still the kings for mobile marketing.

If you are not doing so already, I would strongly suggest that you roll YouTube videos into your marketing strategy, along with your Facebook and Twitter pages.  As always, if you need any help doing so, or just need to bounce ideas around, send me an email at
